EBS Paris organizes a digital expedition in San Francisco for the 2nd years, for a duration of 3 weeks. This seminar is supervised and directed by Inseec San Francisco.
initial project
In order to have the chance to attend seminar, we had to create a site in 2 days to promote sustainable development in companies. The purpose was to realize the site and to share it on our social networks. So we were 60 selected in January 2020.
Stay at Home
Unfortunately, due to the coronavirus crisis we were unable to travel to the United States. But, every course was maintained and we were able to attend thanks to Zoom.
My name is Eva, I was born on September 26, 2000 in the south of Paris. After a science background, I have decided to study at EBS Paris, business school. Curious, autonomous, my biggest dream is to discover many countries and cultures. Every opportunity is to be seized and I am looking forward to going to a foreign country for several months to meet new people and to live far from my usual comfort. Moreover, I was in a dance association for more than 4 years. This allowed me to develop my creativity and I learned to gain confidence in myself and my ideas.

This seminar is composed of 8 subjects that allowed me to acquire new skills on digital. It is a new, intense and enriching program.
Work In Team
We had several projects to realize and most of them were in groups. So I was able to work with several different people. We were all motivated to carry out serious work and each of my team members had indispensable work qualities.
English
The program is entirely in English. It allowed me to improve my English and to learn new terms related to marketing and coding.
Silicon Valley is located in California, south of the San Francisco Bay Area. It has been growing and successful since the 1950s and 1960s.
Today it is at the heart of global innovation. It attracts scientists from all over the world and is home to new technology firms such as Apple, Google, Facebook, Yahoo, LinkedIn, Twitter, PayPal, eBay, Netflix... It embodies American power because the United States is the world's leading technological power.

Independent research
I have decided to deal with the topic of animals suffering from cruel experiments in laboratories in USA. There are few laws for the protection of animals in laboratories and most of them are not respected. Thanks to technology and protection groups, things are progressing, but still too many animals are used. In order to enrich my assignment, I've interviewed several associations.

I have dealt with the topic: Artificial Intelligence in medicine. It’is at the heart of the future’s medicine, it is a rapidly growing field of research. These new tools can be a considerable help for diagnosis, therapeutic orientation, patient follow-up, prediction of diseases. But, the development of artificial intelligence raises ethical questions as the processing of this data or liability.

In this subject, the first project we have done is our CV, which we have coded. So I was able to learn the basics of coding customizing the form and using the w3 School website for some manipulations.

Our website was our last project of this seminar. I had a lot of pleasure in creating it and building it entirely as I wished. The purpose was to tell my experience during these 3 weeks. I was able to deepen my knowledge of coding.

Design Sprint
I have participated to a design Sprint. We were in group of 5 and we had to solve this challenge: Innovative robots save hospital-bound patients communicate and maintain social links to friends and family in addition to providing emotional comfort. We’ve interviewed target customers in order to generate and to draw our solution.

US Society
As an artefact, I have chosen America, song from the West Side Story musical. It deals with the theme of immigration and integration in the USA in the 1950s. In this music, boys and girls, Puerto Rican immigrants are opposed on their vision of America. On the one hand, the girls see America as freedom and believe in the American dream. On the other hand, the men denounce the main disparities.
